What Causes Pain On Little Finger Of Right Hand?

I was sweeping the floor, I turned my hand in, heard a pop and severe pain. The side of my right hand by the little finger. it does not hurt all the time. Sometimes when I write, press down on it. The pain starts at the base of the little finger, down may arm.
