What Causes Pain On Right Side Of Head Above Ear And Behind Temple Region?

have sharp pain on and off on right side of my head, above the ear and behind the temple. I took and asprin and drank a small glass of red wine. should I go to the emergency. I am on high blood pressure meds and chlosteral lowering. I am 65 yrs. female

Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com. If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have made the following clinical explanation-
Acute onset localised sharp headache on one side,at your age should definitely be evaluated and not taken casually.Your age group is a high risk for vascular accidents,and the clinical setting of hypertension increases the risk further.So,please visit a physician so that he examines you well for any neurological deficit.He may let you undergo a brain imaging like computerised tomographic(CT) scan to see for any intracranial damage.The bottom line is-Secondary cause is must to be rules out first,before presuming it to be a primary headache.I hope it helps.
