What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of Epigastric Region?
Hi, I have been feeling this pain on the left side of my epigastric region (the bottom of my rib cage) for a few days now. It wasn't always there but now it isn't going away. It hurts a little like when one runs for a while and feels cramps in their gut but the pain is higher up. The pain increases just a little when I breath but is more painful when i actually touch the area. I havent been eating as much lately but that isnt because of the pain I do look more pale since a couple of weeks ago and the color of my skin under my eyes is a bit darker. I have been going to the restroom more often than normal.
It should be noted that I do smoke cigarettes
I am a 24 caucasian male. 5'5" I dont know my weight but its normally 130lb although I am sure I have lost weight in the last few weeks, I'm guessing because I have not eaten as much as I normally do.
Also, my sleeping schedule has always been a little rough but now I only sleep about 2 hours every night because when I wake up, I no longer feel tired whatsoever.
I have quit smoking herbal incense yesterday because I am pretty sure it is the reason for my lack of sleep among other things but I would like to hear a doctor's opinion on my matter to see if I should be worried about the pain I feel.
Don't be panic.. Left side of epigastric area is fundus part of abdomen which contains small amount of gases always. In many people , this gas amount is increased due to gastritis or peptic ulcer leading to pain. You need to change your food habits along with medications like antacids. Take a glass of normal water half an hour before meal. After meal, Take water after half an hour. Add 100 gm curd in your meal on regular day to minimise acid effect in stomach.I am sure you will get improvement with time.
