What Causes Pain On The Left Side Of Nose?

Hi. On the left side of my nose it hurts really bad. If I touch it or try to stretch it, it hurts. It is a little swollen on the inside but I can still breath through it. It is beginning to swell a little on the outside but you can only tell when you run your finger across it. What could this be and how do I get rid of it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a foruncle which is an infection of the hair follicle. I suggest using warm compresses for local application. You can also apply gently an antibiotic cream such as Neosporin cream. You can use painkillers to treat the pain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
