About 4 days ago I was experiencing tension in my head which I thought was a sinus headache. Then my face started to become sensitive which I have experienced before when I had sinus issues. It then traveled to my ears which were slightly plugged so I use peroxide to help. Now though I am experience pain on the left side of my neck. It hurts when I feel around my neck to touch my glands (near the middle of my neck but slightly to my left side). I am trying to fight whatever this is by myself before I go to the doctor especially because it has only been 4 days but I am a little nervous with the pain in my neck because I have never experienced this before. I was wondering if you could give me some advice please?
Hello, Your symptoms are suggestive of Lymphadenitis following Chronic Sinusitis. It is the condition when the Lymph nodes draining the sinuses gets inflamed. This happens over a long period of time after recurrent sinus infection. There is nothing to worry about as the Sinusitis is treated, the pain in the Lymph node will go by itself. I would suggest you to go for:
1. Steam Inhalation 2. Plenty of fluids 3. Breathing exercises 4. Bromhexine+ Phenylephrine Tablets thrice a day
Since the cause of Sinusitis cannot be figured out, so, I am not suggesting any antibiotics.
Best Regards, Dr. Gunjan Jain
