What Causes Pain Under Rib Cage After Started Taking Statin?

after eating have pain under rib cage some times left sometimes right also in my back under shoulder blade same side as rib cage it varies I have to stand for hours to get relief, if I sit or lie down it gets worse? this did not happen until I was placed on a statin for 2 months had to stop. 80mg

It could be due to statin induced myalgia. You should get your SGOT , SGPT and CK ( blood test ) done If the enzymes are normal you can restart statin at lower dose and increase gradually. cap CO-Q-CD ( co enzyme Q 10 ) at a dose of 30 mg per day (once a day ) will help in preventing myalgia induced by statin.
