I noticed a couple of days ago that when I swallow I have an achy pain on the right side of my esophagus in my mid to lower neck. There are no visible spots in my throat or on my tonsils and my glands are not swollen. I am only aware of the pain when I swallow.
Your symptoms could be related to local inflammation. Anyway, if your symptoms persist, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation). A fibrogastroscopy may be needed.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
