What Causes Pain With Tenderness On Thighs?

I have had a bruise-like feeling on my right thigh since April, but there is no sign of actual bruising. It hurts when mild pressure is applied (such as when shaving) but NOT when heavy pressure is applied. If I scratch the area, there is the pain from the pressure, but the actual scratching sensation is dulled.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
It sounds as if you have nerve type pain. If the location of the symptoms is the outside of your thigh at the top then this could be meralgia paresthetica which is compression of the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh as it exits the abdominal cavity. This can be helped by some drugs such as gabapentin. It often responds to injection with local anaesthetic and steroid. Occasionally surgery is required to release the entrapped nerve.
