Looking for some insight. I have these bumps on my scalp that are painful, itchy, burning and are sometimes blister like. My dermatologist tells me it is keratosis. I have had this issue for well over a year probably close to 2 years. Sometimes they go away but I would say for the most part they seem to be appearing consistantly in the same places or have never really healed. I am at a lost as to what to do anymore because the burning is unbearable at time. Would you recommend a second opinion or have any suggestion on what else it could be?
As per your case history, you are suffering from scalp folliculitis.
My treatment advice is: 1. Avoid using hair oil for at least 30 days. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Cefadroxil and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
