I have had highly sensitive skin only on the right side of my back (starts under my scapula and spans down to just above my hip, from my spine over to my side). I can barely touch that area and when I do it feels like a burning/ripping sensation which is extremely painful. Any time someone touches it or brushes against that part of my back it sends me through the roof! I m wondering what it could be. My PCP just looks at me like I m crazy.
Hi. As per your case history of burning sensation on right side of back, my treatment advice is - 1. Take a vitamin b12 supplement once daily for 4 weeks. 2. Apply an anesthetic gel like lignocaine gel twice daily to get relief from burning sensation. 3. Other treatment options are oral gabapentin, carabamazepine, amitryptiline taken only after consulting a dermatologist or neurologist.
If problem persists then consult a neurologist for further investigations and treatment.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
