What Causes Painful Bowel Movements?

My 10 yr old daughter took magnesium at 5pm for constipation & she is still in pain and has not had a bowel movement. We were at the ER today they took xrays and said this should make her go in about 30 min. What else can I do for her? She has been in pain since Tuesday

Make sure your 10 year old daughter is well hydrated, especially in summer. One loses a lot of fluids from sweating and even the air conditioner in buildings believe it or not as the air is very dry. The ER has ruled out an obstruction it sounds like. Fluids, fruits and vegetables curbs constipation most of the time, watch that her diet.
