I have a painful bump inside my left nostril. It has green pus and a bump. Its been 3 days already. It was so painful that my left upper lip was also sore and I can feel something hard when I touch it. I've been putting bactroban ointment. Please help!!
Hi,looking at your symptoms,it seems that you might be suffering from Nasal Vestibulitis-it is an infection of skin at the opening of nose.It seems that the infection has spread to the lip.
It might have caused because of plucking hair from nose or injury over the nasal skin by nails while cleaning with a finger.Avoid such habits.
You need to take Antibiotic course(like Cefixime) for 5-7 days,Analgesic (like Ibuprofen),Antacid (like Rantac),Antihistaminic (like Cetrizine). You can continue with the Bactroban ointment over the swelling.
It is advisable to consult an ENT specialist,if your swelling and pain does not reduce and swelling spreads over face or if you suffer from fever.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
