What Causes Painful Bump On The Back Of Head?

My 10 year old daughter has a painful bump on the back of her head. It feels like a large pimple to the touch but does not look like one. She did not hit her head in any way. Is this something that will take some time to go away or should she see a Dr.

Hello,

A painful bump on the back of her head might be an abscess or pus collection or an enlarged lymph gland due to local infection. So it's better to visit your doctor for further evaluation and management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Veerabhadrudu Kuncham
