What Causes Painful Diarrhea?

Four days ago I woke up with painful diarreha (have had this problem for years) ever since my upper stomach is bothering me. My stomach above my belly button is bloated and semi-hard. Its hard to explain but it is very uncomfortable. Not eating much. I have had a triple bypass and a cartoid (scar along left side of neck, can t remember name of operation.

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history waking up with painful diarrhea, which you are having for years together. You also had triple bypass and a scar in the neck.
Since you are suffering for years together, this may not be a serious problem as during the years you would have additional problems.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Send your stool for check up for 3 consecutive days.
Get the blood tested for CBC, sugar, liver functions, thyroid.
Ultrasonography and colonoscopy to see if there is any somatic reason.
If all the tests are normal, this may then be due to IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome.
If some disease is found during the course of investigations get treated accordingly and you will be fine.
This is not related to triple bypass or anything in the neck you were operated for.
