my husband has a painful knot on the top of his mouth. as described to me, it is very hard, painful, size of a peanut and is located between the back of the roof of his mouth and his throat. he is 43, 6'2", 220 lbs., a long term smoker with a history of drug abuse.
I suggest for a biopsy of the tissue immediately. A oral pathologist can help you with this. The diagnosis and treatment can be based after biopsy result. QUIT smoking immediately and maintain a proper oral hygiene. Reduce consumption of spicy foods.
Regards.
