Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain your daughter is suffering from ALLERGIC
ANGIOEDEMA OF LIPS and it is definitely caused due to allergy with some food ingredient..
You need not to worry as the swelling will go down slowly and continue giving her
Benadryl twice a day for 5 days..
Give anti-inflammatory painkiller like
Ibuprofen for reducing pain and faster reduction in swelling..
Do cold compresses over the lips..
Avoid sucking, biting or pressing over the lips..
Drink plenty of water to faster wean off the effect of allergen..
In case if there is difficulty in breathing or the swelling increases immediately consult an Emergency room as they might even give injectable anti-allergic and
steroids for faster resolution of allergy symptoms.
A blood investigation for allergic testing can be done to rule out the exact ingredient causing allergy as
antibodies are formed against the allergen in the body and preventing exposure to the allergen can prevent furthur allergy attacks..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
