What Causes Painful Mouth After Inserting Tubes Down Throat?

The roof of my mouth is raw after surgery. I think they had a tube going down my throat during surgery ( in my nasal passages) and I think the tube was rubbing against the roof of my mouth the shoe time. Now the roof of my mouth is raw and numb. I also am having problems now with lsck of taste and smell.

post surgery( intubation), change of taste pain swallowing is quite common for few days.

Have plenty of oral fluids. decongesent nasal drops will help in case of burning in nasal cavity
