hi i was swimming in the ocean for hours and my nipples were really hurting. Then at least 2 days later i was in the shower and i noticed one of my nipples had blood and scabs around it and im a girl 13 years old, is there anything to be worried about? Thanks
According to your history the possible causes of your problem are: - Continuous friction due to tight clothes can sometimes irritate the nipples and can lead to discharge. - Pressure due to sea water can also do the same. Sometimes this could be bloodstained forming flakes. - Rarer conditions like duct ectasia, increased prolactin levels, etc. can lead to to nipple discharge.
By clinical examination only the exact cause of the problem can be identified. Please consult your gynecologist and get examined. Usually sonomammography may not be needed at your age, but if your doctor advises, better to undergo once to find out the possible cause of the problem and take treatment accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
