About 4 days ago I developed a 100º fever and was feeling really worn down. The fever finally subsided but now I have a very painful constant cough. It get so bad I almost get sick. No cough medicine helps and now my tongue and throat is really sore. What could I have?
This appears to be residual infection (you had at time of fever) localised to respiratory tract. As you don't complain of expectoration a strong cough sedative (containing codeine phosphate) along with a course of suitable antibiotic will cure your problem.
