For years I have had sharp pulsating pain under my left ear down side of my neck. I was diagnosed 10+ yrs ago with trigeminal neuralgia. About 2 yrs ago I had MVD surgery for TN. Occasionally have the pain under my ear. Do you think this is connected to TN? I might add the pain started about 2 yrs before I was diagnosed with TN.
It may be a pulsatile tinnitus seen in hypertension or anemia or aneurysms of carotid artery etc. Other possibilities like glomus tumor of the ear or hypersensitivity of the skin around the ear etc.
Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking and alcohol intake.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
