So a week a ago I hit both knees on a steel plate .. it broke the skin but not severe .. but they both swelled up .. left leg on the shin area .. the right leg just under the knee .. the right knee did swell up pretty good .. I kept applying hot and cold compress .. now .. it just hurts when I apply pressure on it .. but I have this really tender spot where it got hit .. my question is .. do u think I have puss build up there or is just tender tissues?? .. thanks in advance

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It might be due to minor contusion following the injury.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like Ibuprofen or Aceclofenac for pain relief. Apply ice-packs for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
