What Causes Painful Ulcers In Mouth, Tongue With Pain In Ears And Neck?

I have been been having apthous in my mout, tongue, lips, its so painful that I can barely swallow. both ears hurt and my neck is a bit swollen. I saw a Dr. and he said it was just viral and would go away. He suggested using hydrogen peroxide on the ulcers. After another two weeks my moth was worse and the ulcers and earache was worse. I went into the Dr again and this time I saw a female Dr. She asked me if I ever had a rash and I did. I though they were mosquito b but they were all around my neck. She said she was going to get some labs and she said that my platelet count was low and that I had very large macrocytes, She asked me if I drank I never have been a big drinker. She said she wanted me to see a Liver Dr. I saw her today and she is sending me for a sonogram and a whole lot of blood work. Any thoughts?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The multiple ulcers over the tongue, lips and other mucosa can be because of the apthous ulcers or herpetic viral infection. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take topical anesthetic like lignocaine and topical analgesic like choline salicylate. Regarding the rashes or red spots it can be because of the dengue or idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura(Since there is decreased platelet count). Consult a good general physician and get it evaluated. Ultrasound might have been advised to check any spleen or liver enlargement.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
