Hello, i had my tonsils removed back in Oct of 2010 and about a month ago i noticed i had a white ball where my left tonsil was it has been hurting my left ear and it hurts when i swallow anything the pain is so bad i cant take it... what should i do.. Thank you !

As per your complain it seems like you have infection in throat and there is formation of a pus filled abscess and pain in ear is also secondary to throat infection as throat and ear are connected via Eustachian tube.. Nothing to worry, consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and for infection he can advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin, for pain Ibuprofen or Diclofenac can be taken.. Antibiotic ear drops can be instilled in ear.. You can do warm saline gargles and do steam inhalation.. Take a soft diet. And avoid hot and spicy food.. Drink plenty of water and warm fluids.. In case if the abscess is large in size Incision and Drainage can be done..
