Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Painless Indentation On Top Of My Butt-cheeks?
I recently noticed a half dollar-sized indentation at the top of my right butt cheek/bottom of back. It is painless and has only a slight discoloration in the center of the indent. It feels as though my muscle has just disappeared in that one spot. I am only 25 and hadn t recently had any shots/injections in that area. I noticed it after a 3 week sickness left me in bed full time and I was also unable to eat normally during that period. I want to know what it is, if it s normal and how to make it go away if at all possible?
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows regarding your painless half dollar sized indentation over top of your right buttock and bottom of back.
It could be due to muscle atrophy or it could be muscle pain following indentation or depression in the buttock muscle which is not normal by any-means.
Also,i will hope there is no ulcer or boil or abscess mark but I will need to see that area to comment exactly what the skin is and how looks before coming to a certain conclusion.
And hence you should see a surgeon who will examine it and start treatment.
Meanwhile, take pain killers if there is unbearable pain otherwise no need to worry.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
