What Causes Pains In Tongue While Having White Line/bumps In Throat?

I got three sharp pains in my tongue it felt like it was getting poked by a needle. So I looked in my mouth I have a white line in the back of my throat and bumps on the sides were my tonsils should be is it normal? I feel normal doesn t hurt. I find my self coughing here n there from like a itch in my throat. Could I just be over reacting in my throst is normal?

Hello,
You are describing signs of inflammation. This can be due to an infection. Common infections are a strep throat or an oral yeast infection that can produce similar symptoms. You can try to take some anti-inflammatory medication such as Tylenol and Motrin to reduce discomfort. Keep well hydrated and make sure you do not have any vitamin deficiencies. Adequate vitamin B12 is highly recommended. Consider taking your temperature. Redness in the back of your throat with white bumps can be a diagnostic sign for strap throat. Allergies or sinus congestion can force you to breeze through your mouth and have a drying effect on your throat which also can cause discomfort. If necessary, consider taking a decongestant for some additional relief. If your condition worsens or does not improve in a short period of time, consider visiting your family doctor for an exam and possible antibiotic prescription.
