What Causes Palpitations And Dizziness When Suffering From Enlarged Left Atrium?
My doctor told me today I have an enlarged left atrium. I am having palpitations, shortness of breath and dizzeness/fatigue. The hospital is supposed to schedule an electrocardiogram or maybe it was an echo, but no body called today. I m very scared and can t find anything online about this.
Hi welcome to hcm I understand your query and concern. Your symptoms are suggestive of Valvular heart disease like Mitral valve abnormality a 2 D Echo cardiogram of your heart immediately to know the severity of the disease. Also get complete blood picture, chest xray, lipid profile,ECG to confirm the diagnosis.Coronary angiogram can be done to look for size and site of blocks if any.In mild to moderate procedures wait and watch procedure is enough. In severe cases valve replacement is the procedure of choice.Avoid stress and anxiety.Consult your cardiologist for expert management. Post your further queries if any, Thank you.
