Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
In 1967 I had open heart surgery where an atrial myxoma was excised. During the course of this past month I have noticed palpitations and had an EKG done yesterday which showed PVC s and Bigemeny on a non-stop basis. About 20 years ago I was also diagnosed with SVTs caused by an access pathway problem If you have any ideas please e-mail me asap. Thank you.
Hi welcome to HCM. Palpitations in your case are most likely caused from an aberrant accessory pathway. This conducts impulses in a regular fashion through out the heart.24hour holter EKG and electrophysiological studies can accurately quantify the ectopics.Drugs like amiodarone and procedures like Radiofrequency ablation can offer permanent cure.Consult your doctor for further queries. Thank you
