Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I don t drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or have gallstones. (Operation 20 yrs ago for gallstones) I had a complete removal of my large intestine last February and just have red scars left right now. I have diabetes and that is under control by my MD. (Pills). I have a thyroid condition for the last three months and am on Leevothroxine under dr care. What could cause the problem of pancreatitis?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Pancreatitis is an inflammatory condition of the pancreas and it can be due to infection. If it is not the infection, then it can be due to some nonspecific reasons, like injury or the systemic infection. The given history may be or may not be the cause of pancreatitis. Overall, it depends upon the differentiation testing and clinical examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
