What Causes Papilla On Tongue Causing Difficulty In Speaking?
from 15 days i have a problem at the posterior 3rd of my tongue occasionally i feel as if some small food particle is stuck and i feel like removing it and i examined myself and found that there are 3 to 4 papillas on the right side of my tongue and only one papilla on the left i have no problem in swallowing only occasionally while speaking it irritates mildly can you suggest me what could this be likely
As per your complain it seems that there is inflammation and swelling of the Circumvallate Papillae that are present in the back one third of tongue in a "V" shaped pattern. Common conditions that can cause their enlargement are: -Throat infection. -Acid reflux. -Burning with hot food or chemicals. -Oral Infections. -Post Nasal Drip. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated so that he can rule out the underlying cause of the swelling and treatment f the cause can resolve the problem.. For relief from symptoms do warm saline gargles, soda bicarb gargles, take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and avoid hot and spicy food. If there is pain or burning gargle with a numbing mouthwash and suck on ice..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
