What Causes Patches Of White Dryness On The Scalp?

My son is 16 years of age and has very dry and slightly curly hairs. He has developed patches of white dryness on the scalp. He often scratches with his finger tips and dandruff like small peels fall down. His hairs also started falling probably half broken and not from the root. He has almost tried every high quality anti-dandruff sahampoo but having no improvement. He does not use any oil massage. Pl suggest some natural therapy in case of no medicinal treatment.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that your son is suffering from Seborrheic Dermatitis thatleads to Dry and flaky scalp that itches ..
It can occur due to causes like Fungal infection, stress, side effects of certain medication, genetic causes etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of flakes can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you to wash your scalp and hairs with shampoo containing Ketoconazole, coal tar, salicylic acid, Zinc and selenium..
You can be advised to massage your scalp with steroid lotion..
Sulphur containing shampoos are also helpful..
Keep your scalp Dry and clean..
Avoid retention of moisture in scalp..
