What Causes Patches On The Tongue While On Lisinopril?

I now have a coating on my tongue. Dentist noticed it now and last visit months ago. Also I had lost 45 pounds before starting Lisinopril. I have eaten more BUT i put the weight on quickly after having kept it off for a year. I want to stop the meds. Can I wean myself off if it?

No you should not lean off lisinopril by yourself. Lisinopril is usually prescribed for hypertension; and stopping antihypertensive drugs without consultant's advice is not recommended at all. The sudden increase in blood pressure can result in grave consequences.
I would have assessed my patient and if the tongue coating is related to lisinopril; I would have changed to other drugs like telmisartan or valsartan and stopped lisinopril.
You can discuss the above information with your care giver. Hope this helps. Thanks.
