Hello,
From the symptoms you mentioned, it seems to be
balanitis or infection of penis head. Most common are
yeast infections or fungal infections. Bacterial infections can also cause balanitis. Chemical or soap can also cause irritation.
Don't worry it is common in uncircumcised males with active sexual life. It may or may not be due to STD. Do frequent cleaning of penis beneath foreskin is important. Apply
clotrimazole cream if your infection is due to yeast. It is to be applied twice daily on the head of the penis and foreskin.
If the cause is bacterial, antibiotics would help. If you have
diabetes, the sugar levels must be under control. If all the above measures fail, you might need to undergo
circumcision. Please do consult a physician to identify the cause of balanitis so that appropriate treatment can be started.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
