What Causes Penis Discomfort And Irritation After Unprotected Intercourse?

hi I am a 26 year old male. I had very brief unprotected sex a month ago and have had a strange feeling in my penis since. Now I have a slight irritation on and around my pee hole. Can you help me please.I hope I am over reacting. I have a history of making myself sick with worry.

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Unprotected intercourse is a risk factor for STD's.
The symptoms of slight burning sensation is most likely due to urethral inflammation/urethritis; the cause most likely being a non-gonococcal one (chlamydia Or mycoplasma). It is unusual for irritation to persist for a month without an underlying cause.
If I was the treating doctor I would have treated you empirically for Non-Gonoccocal urethritis with a course of an Oral antibiotics active against the most likely organisms; chlamydia and mycoplasma.
I would suggest that you visit a specialist for appropriate screening/testing for all the STD's including HIV, since your's was an unprotected sexual contact.
Furthermore if you notice any ulcer or erosions, warts or growths in the genital area, you must check it with your doctor.

Regards
Always practice safe sex with a condom!
