Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 50 years old and in reasonable health. I have recently started having pain associated with erection. The pain is located toward the base of the penis. It almost feels like it would if I were pressing down on an erect penis. I ve been looking around to see if this is normal for my age, but don t find anything mentioning pain associated with erectile dysfunction. Any ideas what this is all about?
Pain in the erected penis may be due to Peyronie's disease. It is characterized by development of scar tissue with in the penis. Other possible causes are like sickle cell anemia, balanitis or herpes zoster infection, etc.
Lack of lubrication during intercourse also may be one of the reason. Use lubricants while intercourse. Use vitamin a capsules as early as possible. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
