What Causes 'pericardial Effusion' In Pregnancy Scan?
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and was told my my OBGYN that my ultrasound last week showed isolated pericardial effusion of 2-4mm. She said not to worry as she's not worried. I have a follow up ultrasound sometime in the next two weeks. I am Rh negative and received my shot at 30 weeks.. Our nuchal testing and all other genetic screenings can back normal. And the anatomical ultrasound showed our baby girl is perfect.
What can cause this? How concerned should I be... I'm terrified.

1.Its one of the symptom seen in the Rh neg patients.
2.However its minor finding, and you are in your 37 weeks, all other tests negative.
3.Do not worry, be very conscious and followup scans even twice a week.
4.Monitor the fetal movements carefully.
5.This is minor finding but get followup scans with doppler evaluation.
