What Causes Periodic Swelling In Glands Under Jaw Line?
64, 6ft, 12 stone. Periodic swollen glands under jaw line. No pain, just uncomfortable. Don't feel quite "on song" either. It's "thought" I have hypo-thyroidism but bloods come back within the UK normal range. But an on 125mcg Levo. What causes these glands to periodically swell up and cause this slight malaise?
Hello and thank you for asking! I have gone carefully through your concern. The swollen glands under the jaw line should be described more precisely, are they lymph nodes? Or is an enlarged thyroid gland? The ultrasound report would give us a more appropriate information. If they are lymph nodes that get swollen periodically, an ENT specialist would be of help to exclude an infection (oral or throat). Hope the information will help.
Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
