What Causes Periods On Next Day Of Having Sex?

I had my baby almost 4 months ago and had the rod put in my arm the day after he was born. But every time my husband and I have sex I get my period the next day and want to know if this is normal and why? Sex is not painful in anyway so I dont know what to do.
