What Causes Persistent Acne And Eczema?

I used to have pretty bad acne a few years ago. I also have problem with eczema. I went to numerous dermatologist and nothing ever seemed to clear my skin. I started getting huge painful bumps on my legs, so they ended up putting me on bactrim. After that, I started having clear skin. I could eat what I want, sleep in makeup, and do anything. And I would never break out. I had beautiful skin. I ve been on it for 1-2 years. This past month, I ve had problems with my skin again. I m still on bactrim and nothing seems to work. My eczema has come back again to. It was all fine until they changed my bactrim into another bactrim. They said it s the same thing, just a different brand I guess. And so I asked to be switched back so I did and I m still having problems. I don t understand what is happening and it s ruining my self esteem. Please help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent acne and eczema which occurs because of infection of bacteria when clogged pores gets filled with sebum ,dead skin and bacteria get infected. Hormonal changes, excessive exposure to sun is the other factor responsible for your condition. You should get your hormone levels monitored. You should apply sunscreen Such as TAN CARE rich in SPF 26. Drink 8-9 glasses of water daily and add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet. Apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. You should wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day , exfoliate your face once a week. If condition doesn't start getting better in a month then consult dermatologist . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics course .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
