What Causes Persistent Blurred Vision In The Eye?

I woke up in the middle of the night and it felt as if something were in my eye. I flushed and put eyedrops in but that did not help. I was able to go back to sleep. When I got up I put a patch over my eye for 30 minutes and when I took the patch off my vision was extremely blurry, could only see shapes. After a few minutes it cleared up. Same thing again today with blurriness but the sensation of having something in my eye is gone.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I would advise you to get your eye checked up. It could have been a simple corneal scratch or abrasion, which got healed up but without a slit lamp examination I cannot establish the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.
