I am a 66 year old female and I have been experiencing chills constantly - I don t feel sick and don t have a temperature, but the chills are making me feel on the edge of getting ill. This was happening when the weather was warm and now that the temperature has fallen, I can really feel the chills
Hello Thanks for your querry Chills are caused by muscles contracting and relaxing rapidly. This occurs when the body is trying to generate heat, in order to raise the body's core temperature. A fever may closely follow these chills, typically indicating infection. If your chills do not coincide with a fever, it may mean you have one of the following conditions. 1)Are you on any prescription drugs, you could also have nausea and insomnia. 2)Hypothyroidism:So get your thyroid levels checked. 3)Hypoglycemia: So get your sugar levels checked. 4)Anaemia:get your heamoglobin level checked. 5)Also see if you burning sensation while you pee, could be bladder infection.
