What Causes Persistent Cough And Flu Despite Taking Mucinex And Antibiotics?

I have had a cough since Jan - started as cold/flu, never went away. Been to drs. given atibiotics, steroids, mucinex, alergy meds, now more antibiotics, an inhaler, and nasal spray. Never smoked, very tired from not sleeping.Chest xray was negative for pnemomia
