What Causes Persistent Cough In A 5 Year Old?

Sir, my 5 year old daughter is coughing almost non-stop. We have taken her to her pediatrician, Dr. Jon Uy in Cebu, Philippines, and he has prescribed her the foreign version of mucinex. I do not feel it is helping enough because she is still coughing up phlegm and nasal drainage. Does this sound like allergies Bronchitis? Seasonal allergies? Please help.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. I just read through your question.
I agree that your daughter could be suffering from any diagnosis that you listed in your question. Additionally I would consider the diagnosis of reflux. Reflux can cause persistent cough and nasal congestion. The medicine your doctor recommended is clearly not working. I recommend consulting with your doctor and discussing every diagnosis we've listed here.
I find this answer helpful
