What Causes Persistent Cough, Which Worsens With Wind Or Cold Apart From Intermittent Bronchitis And Accompanied By Post-nasal Drip?
I have a cough for a year now I have been to a doctor he says my lungs are clear he gave the diagnosis its allergic cough while I dont cough all the time but when its windy or maybe cold weather. Then I develope a bronchitis cough all of a sudden I feel like I ve gotten a cold but the next day I m fine. I also Sinus but no runny nose just post nasal drip.
Cold air irritates the airways, leading to coughing. It dries the nasal passages leading to more mucus production. Windy weather carries pollens and allergens thus triggering coughing. Postnasal drip commonly occurs due to colds, allergies, sinus infections, and when cough irritates the throat.
Take antihistamine to help control allergy. Nasal sprays and decongestants are helpful to clear nasal passage. To clear out mucus and allergens rinse your nasal passages with saline water. Talk less, stay well hydrated. Take water, warm beverages and soup to feel better. Use a humidifier to avoid dryness of the nasal passages. Take a comfortable pillow to avoid postnasal drip.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
