ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

In pregnancy there is increase in intraabdominal pressure which raises the diaphragm towards the lungs. It causes cough in pregnant women. Get your lung consulted by a physician. If the lungs are ok then there is nothing to worry. We can't use cough syrup in pregnancy as it may cause respiratory depression in your baby. Sometimes increase in intrabdominal pressure cause acid reflux which can also cough. So better you use betadine gargle and warm saline gargle. Rest will be ok with time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
