My mother has a chronic hereditary cough which is persistent day and night 24 hours a day for the last 8 years, her mother also has the same cough. She has seen alot of doctors and specialists with no answers. She has never smoked and an array of tests including chest x rays and a sleep study has found nothing. No medication works, what can we do?

If suffering from Acid reflux,then she may find relief by taking Antacids like Pantoprazole and Digene gel.Avoid spicy,oily and citrus foods.Drink lots of water.Skip heavy dinner.Raise the head end of your bed.Eat slowly. 2.Allergy Allergy to dust,cold food,certain food items. If there is problem of Allergy,then avoid substances causing Allergy. You can even go for an Allergen test to find out Substances which causes allergy.
