What Causes Persistent Diarrhea And Addiction To Aristozyme?
dear Dr, my mother is of 86 yrs. She has been taking 7.5 to 10 ml. Aristozyme liquid twice daily since 1 1/2 yrs as she always complains about her persistent loose motion. If I do not give her she becomes madly angry and does notb take food on the plea that less food means less frequency of mbowel movement.Any sedative is there that has addicted her? Would you suggest me the further course of action?(binayak mishra)
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. Aristozyme is a digestive supplement. It helps in reducing heart burn, flatulence and indigestion. 2. There is no sedative in it and it is not addictive. 3. At this age, diet intake should be regular and good. She has possibly developed a psychological feeling of goodness along with aristozyme, as she has taken it for a longer time. 4. As, it has not adverse reactions, she can take it as necessary. If necessary, counseling can be taken. Also, addition of probiotics and yogurt will be helpful to reduce persistent loose motion. Also give her good hydration (atleast 6-8 liters of water/day) Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
