What Causes Persistent Ear Swelling, Itching And Redness After A Bee Sting?
I was stung by a bee last week and had a severe allergic reaction, saw my Dr. for an epi-pen the next day. Now almost a week later, the ear that was stung is swollen, bright red and itchy. It's very warm to the touch. I also have a bit of nasal congestion (possibly unrelated?) and my eyes feel like I have "heavy lids". I've iced the ear regularly without relief. Are these just unrelated symptoms or should I be concerned?
Hi, It seems that you got severe allergic reaction to bee stung giving localized and systemic allergic reaction. There might be having bacterial infection as ear is bright red. Take Cetrizineor Levo-cetrizine or Benadryl for allergy for 2-3 days. If require go for one antibiotic medicine course for 3 days to cure infection. Continue ice pack. Ok and take care.
