What Causes Persistent Fever And Vomiting?

My soon to be 2 yr old son has had a fever between 101 and 103.6, etc for the last five days and has thrown up on three occassions. One time each day for the last three days. The pediatrician could not detect any stomach virus, ear infection or anything and says that it will take its course and he should be better in a couple of days, but suggests to follow up if the fever persists another two days. I d like a second opinion. Thank you, Lisa

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

If fever persist beyond 5 days, this needs evaluation. This can suggests a bowel infection, urine infection or even a viral fever. We need to get a blood and urine routine test done. Your doctor will guide you. Meanwhile give him paracetamol for fever and plenty of oral fluids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
