What Causes Persistent Groin Pain In An Elderly Person?

I am a very active 79 year old doing exercise every day. Have developed some groin pain and what feels like a tendon or ligament discomfort in right hip area. do not think it s arthritis of hip joint but maybe overuse since I do pilates every day. Can you give me some information about what it could be? Didn t come on gradually but more suddenly.

Hello,
Hip pain is often referred into the groin area. This is because the nerves surrounding the hip go into the groin. You should back off on the stresses on the hip for several weeks and if it does not resolve then you should see a doctor. Warm soaks and rest would be the first thing to try.
