Hi,

It is not normal to have headaches for a day...let alone 2 months. You may be suffering from what is referred to as postconcussive syndrome (PCS) meaning that your fall may have actually resulted in a concussion and that the headaches have come about as a consequence of that fall. The fact, you are having ongoing headaches is the support your head was either struck or suffered a serious whiplash effect from the fall. As such there are some factors that could be contributing to or causing the chronification of your headaches.

1. You may be overusing OTC or even prescription medications for headaches and this is called medication overuse headache.
2. You may be suffering a complication of the PCS which is that inadequate control of headaches is leading to a chronic state and this can be very difficult to stop if you don't get ahead of it as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, seek out a neurologist or better yet, Headache Specialist, in order to examine you and to define the most likely cause of your daily or near-daily headaches. You don't want to hit the 3-month mark with these headaches since then, you will have reached the thresh hold of having chronic headaches by definition and these are truly going to be a bear to get rid of.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi,
